Fractional lasers

Dalton Medical offers a comprehensive product line to meet all your needs. Our advanced lasers achieve beautiful skin rejuvenation and improvement results, and can address various skin conditions. Read on to discover how a fractional laser can help your practice offer your patients even more treatment options.

What is a fractional laser?

Fractional laser treatment is an advanced method in which the laser energy creates microscopic columns of heat in the skin. These controlled injuries stimulate the body's natural healing process, promoting collagen production and the formation of new, healthy skin cells. The 'fractionated' aspect refers to the ability to treat a fraction of the skin, while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This helps in faster healing and shorter recovery time unlike traditional lasers that treat the entire skin surface.

Fractionated lasers can be divided into two categories: ablative and non-ablative lasers.

Ablative, fractionated lasers

A fractional ablative laser delivers high-energy laser beams that remove thin columns of skin tissue through vaporization. This vaporization promotes more aggressive collagen production and skin renewal. During recovery, the damaged skin is replaced by new skin cells. It is particularly effective for the treatment of deep wrinkles , scars , and overall skin rejuvenation . Because layers of skin are removed, some recovery time is to be expected after the treatment.

Non-ablative, fractionated lasers

A fractional, non-ablative laser also creates columns in the skin tissue but does not vaporize the skin. This treatment stimulates collagen production and promotes the skin's natural healing. It is an excellent choice for skin rejuvenation, reducing scars, and treating pigmentation spots . The major advantage of non-ablative treatments compared to ablative ones is that the skin surface remains intact. As a result, the treatments are less aggressive and have a shorter recovery time, allowing patients to quickly resume their daily activities.

Dalton Medical's fractionated lasers

Dalton Medical offers a comprehensive range of lasers for fractional laser treatments. Our systems combine advanced technologies with clinically proven results to provide optimal treatment options. Below is an overview of some of our fractional lasers:

This ablative CO₂ laser platform is a versatile system that enables targeted skin improvements at various skin levels. With the Slim Evolution II MiXto Pro, you can effectively treat deep wrinkles , scars , and general skin aging, among other things . The handpiece features a digital scanner in which micro-spots are not distributed sequentially across the tissue, but according to a "Z-algorithm." This pattern prevents excessive heat generation due to energy buildup. As a result, the treatment is safer and more comfortable. Through the 'Venezia Lift' extension, this platform offers the possibility to perform non-ablative treatments with a shorter recovery time, in addition to a more aggressive ablative approach. Furthermore, in combination with the 'V-Lase' handpiece, the platform can also be used for gynecological applications such as vaginal laxity , dryness, atrophy, and urinary incontinence.

The elegant Candela Nordlys combines an ergonomic Nd:YAG laser with 6 unique Selective Waveband Technology (SWT) handpieces and the non-ablative Frax 1550 and Frax 1940 lasers. With the Frax 1550 handpiece, which penetrates deeper into the skin, you can perform treatments quickly and with minimal recovery time. You can control both the width and depth of the laser columns within the skin, giving you complete control over the thermal effects. This makes the Frax 1550 ideally suited for treating deeper-seated indications such as wrinkles , acne scars , surgical scars, and overall skin improvement. In addition to the Frax 1550, Nordlys also offers the Frax 1940 handpiece. The wavelength of this laser acts on the more superficial skin layers, making it highly suitable for more superficial indications such as texture differences and sun damage, as well as improving overall skin tone.

In addition to the innovative Nordlys platform, Candela has also developed the Frax Pro . This compact laser platform for non-ablative treatments is compatible with the Frax 1550 and Frax 1940 handpieces and can be used for both deep and superficial skin improvement. The Frax Pro is lightweight, features a touchscreen, and offers clinical intelligence for a comfortable and effective treatment.

The PicoWay is the system of choice for treating tattoos, pigmented lesions, and skin improvement, among other things. It utilizes picosecond laser technology , delivering extremely short pulses (one trillionth of a second). With the fractional Resolve handpiece, you can stimulate collagen production using LIOBs (laser-induced optical breakdown) without generating excessive heat, resulting in less damage to surrounding tissues. This not only results in a very short recovery time but also makes this method safer to use on darker skin types. The fractional handpiece can be effectively used to treat all types of pigmentation , scars , and wrinkles.

The highly multifunctional Dynamis NX platform from Fotona offers a wide range of possibilities for all major aesthetic treatments with two complementary wavelengths (1064nm and 2940nm). The wide selection of advanced accessories (handpieces and scanners) and setting options allows you to make optimal treatment choices.

The FS01 handpiece is the ablative fractional handpiece in which the depth of penetration, coverage, and degree of ablation and coagulation can be determined separately. This makes it possible to treat both very mildly and very aggressively. Specifically with this handpiece, deeper scars , wrinkles , and texture problems, among other things, can be treated. Fractional treatments can also be combined in the same session with one or more other modalities available on this platform. With the F-Runner fractional scanner handpiece, treatments become even faster.

The platform also offers advanced features such as CoolMist™ skin cooling for extra comfort and safety during treatments, and Dynamic Vacuum Technology for efficient deep tissue treatments. The dynamic user-friendly interface with customizable memory settings allows practitioners to work faster and more efficiently, making it an ideal solution for modern practices.

Fotona ’s TimeWalker multifunctional system is the smaller version of the Fotona SP Dynamis and features two complementary wavelengths (1064nm and 2940nm). This compact and elegant system is ideally suited for improving all skin layers of the face. The laser is compatible with the fractional, ablative FS01 handpiece, which allows for the treatment of deeper wrinkles , scars , and texture issues, in addition to overall skin rejuvenation.

The StarWalker PQX or StarWalker MAQX from Fotona is an advanced, highly versatile, and multifunctional laser platform suitable for a wide range of applications within aesthetics. In addition to tattoo removal and pigment enhancement, the FracTAT technology also allows you to effectively treat skin aging, reduced skin texture, and scars using fractional photoacoustic shock waves just below the tissue surface (non-ablative). Due to the extremely short pulses, this technique is also highly suitable for more pigmented skin. The FracTAT can also be used at high energy to achieve micro-puncture of the tissue (ablative), which improves skin structure and optimizes tattoo removal treatments.
