Which laser for pigment?

Pigment spots are also called the new wrinkles Pigment spots have a major influence on how old people think we are. Not all pigment spots can be removed by laser, but age spots, dark pigment spots and tattoos can be properly treated with our laser equipment.

Which treatment suits my practice?

Dalton Medical supplies various laser equipment to the professional market that can be used for pigment treatments. But which specific treatment is best suited to each individual situation? Here are some popular options:

  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
IPL breaks down pigment through controlled heating, causing dark discoloration to gradually diminish. This technique is primarily used for superficial pigment. Read more about IPL. Read more about IPL.
  • Pico laser (picosecond)
Picosecond lasers are highly suitable for the treatment of pigmentation and tattoos. Instead of heating the pigment, these lasers work with ultra-short energy pulses that cause a photomechanical effect. As a result, pigment granules are fragmented into very fine fragments, after which the body gradually removes them. Very effective for stubborn and deeper-seated pigmentation.
  • Q-switched laser (nanosecond)
Q-switched lasers have been used for years to treat pigment and tattoos. This technology works with short pulses (nanoseconds) and combines a thermal and mechanical effect to break down pigment.
  • Pulsed Dye Lasers
Pulsed Dye lasers are primarily used for vascular indications, but in some cases can also contribute to the treatment of certain pigment-related disorders.
