Frequently asked questions
An ablative laser removes the upper skin layer, which means it will have to rebuild. This ensures intensive skin renewal that is visible in both the short and long term. A non-ablative laser works in the deeper skin layers to stimulate collagen production and cell renewal, but leaves the upper skin layer intact. The result is more gradual, but is easier to combine with daily activities and has lower risks.
There is a suitable and safe solution for every skin type (Fitzpatrick I-VI), provided you work with the correct wavelengths and settings.
This depends on the skin, the goals and the type of laser used. On average, for optimal results, 1 to 3 sessions are needed for intensive treatments and 3 to 6 sessions for less intensive treatments. Maintenance treatments (e.g. 1 to 2 times a year) help to maintain the effect for a long time.
This varies by technique, type of laser, intensity of treatment and skin type. Some treatments require no downtime (Pico, Nd:YAG long-pulsed) while other treatments require up to 5-10 days downtime (CO2 lasers).

Because IPL focuses on color differences in the skin, it is the ideal choice for superficial skin problems related to pigment or blood vessels. For real skin rejuvenation or improvement in terms of texture, lasers or (RF) microneedling are the better options.
