A fractional laser can be used to treat acne (scars), burns, stretch marks and pigment removal. These conditions all benefit from the use of a fractional laser. With a fractional laser, the laser beam is divided into very small pieces, like the water droplets from a shower head. This ensures that only a small piece (fraction) of the skin is hit, which can prevent any side effects. Now the skin wound can recover from the inside, but also from the sides of the wound, where the skin is still intact. It varies depending on the skin and the size of the damage in the skin, how many treatments need to be done. This can range from 3 to 7 times.
Candela with CO₂RE
Candela Medical has designed the CO₂RE fractional for fractional laser treatments. It allows targeted skin improvements to be performed at different skin levels to remove pigment, for example. The CO₂RE has a built-in digital scanner, making the device fast, reliable and flexible. There is also the CO2RE Intima, to be used for vaginal tightening. This treatment is easy and quick to perform, with one treatment taking only 15 to 20 minutes. It is not a surgical procedure and also has little to no recovery time for the patient.
